Just One More Page!!!!!

I admit today I was ignoring Owen. After lunch I told him he could play for 10 more minutes before nap while I went upstairs and read. Well I just couldn't put my book down, even when it got really quiet downstairs and I knew Owen was up to something. I heard little noises so I knew he was still alive, but instead of checking on him, or even calling down to him, I just read on. Ten... twenty... thirty... forty minutes passed! Finally my two year old ascended the stairs and revealed his crime. No, this time it wasn't chocolate or even flushing all the toilet paper down the toilet. Owen had found the camera and spent forty blissful minutes of his life playing with it unsupervised. These are his shots. I let him finish by taking one of me, and then I took one of him. Does he look happy or what?

You guys are awesome parents.
I know people who would give their child up for adoption if they'd have done something like that. Imagine...in the old days he would have only gotten off like 24 pictures or so, then the film would have run out. He probably wouldn't have ever been allowed to touch the camera in the film days. I hope you enjoyed your book. No fair you talked about how engaging it was, then didn't even give the title!

ha ha ha... well that's because it was just a silly Jane Austen that I've never read before. Sense and Sensibility. Finished it last night and it was pretty good.

I have to agree with Jon, that you are pretty awesome. So is owen. He is well on his way to becoming a regular Ansel Adams. I wonder what he thinks of the camera compared to all his other toys; since a camera is not a typical toddler toy.

That is so funny. I love the shot he took of himself. I can't tell you how many times I've done the same thing--put off checking on a "quiet" child. Well, maybe you should get him a camera for his next birthday, though I'm sure he'd still prefer your's.

Owen is smart--what an ingenious way to occupy your child for a few minutes. He is adorable, smart and a perfect little 2 year-old. Give him a big kiss for me.
