We had so much fun up at the cabin...at least after the first night. We tried to sleep Owen and Marcella in the same room, but Marcella decided she didn't know where she was and was superly over tired and wouldn't go to sleep. Owen stayed asleep through some of the crying but eventually woke up. Jeff and I came down from the loft to calm him down, only Jeff decided to do a face plant off the last step of the stairs. Geez Jeff, what'd ya do that for? Owen proved to be in one of his super unreasonable states, so we finally had to force him upstairs and eventually he went back to sleep. I think Marcella had to go for a drive in the car and finally at about 2am all was quiet. The next day we went to Pond's Lodge to check out the antique sale. The only thing I found was that they sell penny candy there again. It was fun to introduce Owen to something I loved when I was little. I let him pick out a whole dollars worth. That evening we had a super fun trip into West Yellowstone.

Here we are with our ice cream from Buckaroo Bills or whatever that place is called. Yes that's a single in my bowl. The owners are LDS...this explains a lot. People who don't smoke, drink coffee, or alcohol know how to eat ice cream. Even I couldn't finish the whole thing.

We headed over to some shade while we waited for the second car to arrive. Owen found his new favorite thing-sprinklers! The first day in Utah we were driving and Owen gasped "Daddy, Mommie, Look!! What are those?" pointing to about 10 sprinklers watering a school playground. This kid LOVES the water.

Here we are at the restaurant! Everything was really good and so "western" compared to here in the East.

Grandma wrapped Owen up in a cozy blanket the next morning!

These next pictures are really of Monday. We went down to Mesa Falls. It was a lot of fun just being outside and feeling the cool mountain breeze. Everything smells so good out there.
Owen didn't want to look away from the water for even a second. We had to takle him for a picture.

The visitor's center had a wonderful display of furs, antlers, talons, hoofs, eggs, and other fun things kids could touch. It was better than many museums I've been to!
Pictures in the old car. I wonder how long that things been there?

On Sunday Grandma had a great idea to let Owen play outside with a water bottle, bucket and water. He had so much fun. Marcella even put up with him getting her soaked.

Dad called for a last minute service project of staining the deck. But he didn't make me help. Thanks dad!

CAROLINE!! I can't believe I missed you again. I knew that you were staying here for a couple of weeks, and I figured that I had PLENTY of time to get a chance to see you :( It looks like you had fun while you were out here. Congrats on being pregnant by the way, you are such a cute pregnant girl. I'm so so so so sad I missed you. Next time, I guess.....
Jami....next time you'll be in San Jose...aren't you moving in 10 days or so? Caroline...great pictures!! Yeah we were sad to see you go...I keep telling Jeff stuff like, "...and you can Caroline could come down here..." then I remember you're gone. We miss you!
It was so much fun to have you come out Caroline! I'm glad that you and Jeff and Owen could make it! I'll all of you these next couple years.
I know Jami, I should have stopped by. It's always so crazy when we come out... trying to do too much. Good luck with the move!! There is something fun about living far away from family, but it's an adjustment for sure. Maybe I'll see you at Christmas.
Good pictures and commentary, Caroline. It seems like every time we go to the cabin Mom says we should take a picture in the old car but we never get around to it. I'm glad someone finally did it!
