So here we are: match day 2007.
Jeff walking up to get his envelope.
In hand, but we had to wait until all letters were distributed. We counted down and then... well you can watch the rest.
if it ever finishes uploading!
Lunch after. All our friends but one matched their first choice!
We celebrated with our kiddos by going bowling. Owen loved it!
That evening we celebrated with Jeff's class at Applachian Brewery. Jeff and I went all out and had a mixed drink...o.j. and sprite!

We are so happy that we now know we will be at the University of Utah for the next 3+ years. I am so proud of Jeff for working so hard and getting his first choice! He really deserves it and we feel so lucky. We have both been extremely tired the past few days. Match day took so much out of us, but it was one of the best days of my LIFE!

Congratulations! You both deserve your first choice. We are so happy that you are going to be here for the rest of our lives. Hurray!
Love Dad.
I wish I could have had a stethiscope to both of your hearts. I bet they were beating hard! Your smiles and the tone in your voice, Caroline when you told me rang with joy. We are happy for you both! All four of the McCann's actually. I need Owen to tell me how cute I look. I am so lucky to have Owen and Hannah as Grandchildren. You have done a great job Jeff and you will be a wonderful child Psychiatrist. Love,
Mom
A few more comments: A nice bowling game there Owen. Way to grow Hannah! You are so cute. I can't wait to hear your squeals in person.

Wow they really make a party out of finding out! What fun! And stress...
Notice the difference between doctors and lawyers:
I'd say passing the bar is just as stressful as how you've described finding out where you'd match.
You find out on a website--they say they'll be posting the names of the people who passed by a certain date. But everyone knows they always post it early. So you keep checking this website every day and then, one day, a list just appears. And you scroll and see if your name is on the list. If it's not, well, I guess there could be a mistake, but probably not. It is pretty suspenseful. But nothing like a meal and a countdown. Much less personable. Just like lawyers to be be a little more cold. haha.
Congrats! But we'll miss you guys.
Congratulations. It is interesting how social they make it...I guess since it's a national thing, it tends to be naturally social, since everyone everywhere gets to know at the same time.
Oh yeah, and I always knew you were coming to Utah. :P
Hmm, I thought I left a comment already, but that must have been in my imagination. Well, what is left to say? CONGRATULATIONS! I'm sad you're leaving me, but glad you'll be back when we come back in 2 1/2 years, if we do!
