For instance, she was one of the very first authors to extend her offerings beyond books and into merchandise. You could actually buy a stuffed Peter Rabbit, something that had never been done before. A. A. Milne (or his publishers) picked up on this and sold "Edward Bear" dolls dubbed Winnie The Pooh.
