My mom always says that we try and give our children things that we didn't have. When it comes to bikes this is totally true for me. I never owned my own bike. Being fourth I always used the hand-me-down bikes of others. When I got older my parents said they would pay half of a bike I wanted to buy, but by then clothes were much more important.
So at the beginning of May I forked out some of my hard earned cash to buy Owen a Stinger 16. He loved riding it around with the training wheels on. Then one Sunday Miriam came over with her new car and we all went for a ride. Two feet down the driveway the car hit something. When I asked "Who left their bike behind the car?" Owen excitedly said "ME!" Luckily the only damage was to one of the training wheels... so they came off! I tried to teach Owen to ride without them but failed miserably. Jeff took over and had him riding within 10 minutes. After another hour he could start and stop himself too. Way to go Owen!!!! We're so proud of our first biker!

Brilliant O! I can't believe you're riding a bike. You are so advanced. I will try not to put the pressure on my son. Will Jeff be able to teach him too?
Caroline!!! I have been looking all over for you! Seriously. I just found you off of Jami's blog. I could not remember your new last name so it was kind of difficult. But, anyway, you look so happy and beautiful on here. You're family is sooo big. Your blog is super cute. I just got remarried. Check out our blog!..man..so good to see you on here.
That's such a great story. I love the excited "Me!" part. Congratulations Owen on learning to ride your bike! Poor Matthew. He's the proud owner of a hand-me-down bike from his older brother, which was purchased for the said brother at the Salvation Army. The training wheels keep falling off because Mom put them on and I can't get them to stay on right. Just hide that bike when we come over so he doesn't know what he's missing.
Wow Owen! I couldn't ride without training wheels until i was seven! You are amazing!
That´s hillarious caroline! i totally remember when hannah did that and we just happend to be taking ramdom pictures. She chose the right time to do that! That is awesome that owen rides with out training wheels and he´s only four!! I remember trying to learn and that was and the cabin so it didn´t go to well. That was so funny whant he said in the car. And he just hopped back on his bike and rode it back to the house wobbling up and down on the bent wheel. The peacock is pretty funny! We saw some at the zoo here in tena but it wasn´t nearly as cool as that!
way to go O-man! but, watch out for the cars! That is awesome he is riding by himself, we need to get new bikes in a major way! Oh, btw- we are coming back out to UT in August (3-19) so we'll see you soon!
