Graduation

After Mom picked us up from the airport we stopped at temple square. Owen is really into making funny faces.

Owen's angel Moroni impression.

The next day we went down to BYU with Owen to pick up my cap and gown and commencement tickets. It was a beautiful day and it was fun to have some time alone with Owen.

Owen was as happy and I am about graduating.

Mom bought us all a jamba juice as we waited for convocation.

Graduation was so awesome. I just felt so overwhelmed to be there because there was a time when I honestly thought I would never graduate. I am so glad for everyone who encouraged me and helped me get there. My parents. Jeff always watching the kids and all my awesome friends out here who also took Owen when I had to finish a paper or take a test. Thanks!!

Everyone who came to convocation

This was at Jon's party. Owen loves lemons.

Lastly this is my favorite picture from the trip. Owen slept in Mom and Dad's closet because we had to pack and it was time to put him to bed. I remember sleeping in here so many times growing up. It is fun to see Owen experiencing the same thing.

Whirlwind

I honestly think I have taken at least 1000 pictures during the past two months. We have had so much going on! First we had Jeff's birthday and some beautiful spring days, and then we went to Utah for my graduation. I am so glad that I got to go it was incredible! Then we came home and had a quick visit from Ben and Tara and then headed off to Outer banks, N.C. for a fourth-year trip we've been planning forever. This was AMAZING!!! It was one of those trips which makes normal life seem unbearable. Well I'll start with some pictures of April. I'll refrain from putting all 1000 up...since I have a whole house to pack up.

Attack of big blue dog. She was lovin' it until I got the camera out and then she just stared at me.

A sunny day at the park. I think this was Jeff's birthday.

Hannah trying out the swing.

I solved the rubik's cube for our ward talent show. It was awesome.

On a Sunday walk.

Owen the bunny found a real bunny.

Easter morning we made bunny pancakes.

Owen still loves to hold Hannah.

MiXed uP

Owen was pretty thrilled about this outfit he chose out and put on himself. Tip: If your three-year-old puts his shirt on backward leave it. Only the back gets dirty and you get another day's use out of the shirt by putting it on correctly the next day.

D.C./Baltimore

We took a temple trip in March that I never got around to posting so since everyone looking at this is probably just bored wasting their time avoiding tasks such as housework you won't mind my ramblings...
When we got to the temple Owen noticed this little crocus. It was our first sighting of a flower this year. He was excited.
Waiting for Dad. While Jeff was in the temple we went for a walk around the grounds. I thought I'd show how when Owen finds a stick he likes to break off all the little twigs on the sides. Is this a sign of OCD?
So we made it to Baltimore and strolled in inner harbor and then went to the Baltimore Aquarium. It was fun but a little crowded. We stayed overnight at the Olson's. They were great hosts....so great we imposed on them again last week when we went to the cherry blossom festival.
And the grand finale-the "Two Beths" as Grandma Hanson would say.

Popcorn PoPpiNg

Okay it was 10:00am and I was so tired. We'd talked about going down to D.C. to see the cherry blossoms since this was our last chance. We'd talk, talk, talked about it but we hadn't really decided. It was the moment of truth...we had to decide. Was it worth getting ready, 2hrs there and 2hrs back (with a baby who doesn't sleep in the car), and gas money? Well we took one look at these kiddos and decided they were happy enough. I took one look at myself...but I won't post that picture (I'd stayed up until 1am), and decided I was up for it. And Jeff said I could decide. So we were off! I called Tara right before we left and she was gung-ho and met us down there. This made it all worth it! We had so much fun. This is a must do for everyone before they die. The weather was to die for perfect. I love the Washington Memorial in the background.

Talk about beautiful!

Matthew and Owen hit it off better than our last visit.

Hannah hanging out in the sling.

Jeff assured me he had promied Owen a ride in a boat real soon so they decided to try out the paddle boats in tidal basin. Hannah and I stayed ashore because she didn't meet the weight requirement.

Jeff took a picture of us from the boat.

We couldn't believe the "popcorn trees." It was so so beautiful. And we had fun that evening at the Olsons. We're going to miss them!

WhAt a DaY!!!!

So here we are: match day 2007.
Jeff walking up to get his envelope.
In hand, but we had to wait until all letters were distributed.
We counted down and then... well you can watch the rest.

if it ever finishes uploading!

Calling family.

Lunch after. All our friends but one matched their first choice!

We celebrated with our kiddos by going bowling. Owen loved it!

That evening we celebrated with Jeff's class at Applachian Brewery. Jeff and I went all out and had a mixed drink...o.j. and sprite!

We are so happy that we now know we will be at the University of Utah for the next 3+ years. I am so proud of Jeff for working so hard and getting his first choice! He really deserves it and we feel so lucky. We have both been extremely tired the past few days. Match day took so much out of us, but it was one of the best days of my LIFE!
