Rain Rain

We had so much rain last weekend. Owen had fun playing outside and splashing. We ran errands on Saturday and he loved splashing us while we walked into and out of stores. One afternoon he played in the back for a few hours and came in completely soaked. He found those boots at a second hand store while I was looking at something else. He loves them because he can put them on by himselfHere is a picture of him after the rain stopped. He made a bed outside for him and his animals. Notice everything is so green. All the grass had turned completely brown, but it only took a few days change bright green again.

Underwear Man!

It isn't very hard to get Owen to go to the bathroom. He's amazing and pretty much never has accidents, but the other night I came home from being at YW's and this is what I found: UNDERWEAR MAN!!! It takes at least 10 minutes for me to get him to get dressed again after going to the bathroom and this night Jeff was folding clothes and Owen decided to put underwear everywhere except for where it goes. Not to mention the socks on his hands. My son is so cool.

And here is a pregnant picture so you can compare it to the one I'll post in two months. I feel a lot more pregnant than I look. Thanks for the cute shirt Kanien. And Jon..NO Photoshopping this image. I still remember three years ago.

Super summer fun

We went swimming one afternoon. It was nice and refreshing. Jeff did the coolest motor boat slpash and Owen couldn't get enough of splashing us in the face.

Here is Miriam at Roots farmers market in Lancaster. She is about the dive into a traditional pennsylvania funnel cake.

Owen couldn't find any flowers to pick me so he just brought me this stick instead insisting it was a flower. We kept it as a center piece for a few days. It seriously made me just as happy as a dozen roses. He was so sweet and excited to give it to me.

Owen and I tried to bury ourselves in the sand. Owen kept saying "It's so cozy!"

Owen loved playing in the water. The waves were quite fierce at times and would knock him over so I taught him to run back up the beach everytime a big one crashed. Playing in the water was his favorite, but a close second was rolling in the sand. Once I looked over at him and he had just taken a bite of sand and was holding it in his mouth. "How is it?" I asked. "Get it out mommie!!!!!!!" was all he could say.

In the evening we walked on the boardwalk enjoying boardwalk fries and some ice cream. It was really crowded, we couldn't believe it. We walked all the way down to the end where it was quieter and went out and enjoyed the evening waves. The ocean is so beautiful and amazing!

A little taste of the Family Reunion

Owen finally decided to fall asleep about 10 minutes before we landed. It was almost 1am Pennsylvania time. He stayed asleep until we got to Dad and Mom's house and I laid him on a bed upstairs. Then he decided to wake up. We had fun with the family for a little bit and he finally went to sleep when we did. I hadn't had time to cut my boys (Jeff and Owen) hair before we left so I did it the next morning. Owen is not usually this happy when I cut his hair. Lizzy doing an Uncle Rico.

Water kid.

Owen had fun playing with my cousins: Trevor, Isabella, and Dillon. I thought he would get hurt especially when he started pulling on Trevor's ears, but they were so nice to him. Trevor just laughed.

Lastly here are a few shots from the day we went to the temple. It was a lot of fun to be there with my family. I love the Salt Lake temple

Arkady Cabin

We had so much fun up at the cabin...at least after the first night. We tried to sleep Owen and Marcella in the same room, but Marcella decided she didn't know where she was and was superly over tired and wouldn't go to sleep. Owen stayed asleep through some of the crying but eventually woke up. Jeff and I came down from the loft to calm him down, only Jeff decided to do a face plant off the last step of the stairs. Geez Jeff, what'd ya do that for? Owen proved to be in one of his super unreasonable states, so we finally had to force him upstairs and eventually he went back to sleep. I think Marcella had to go for a drive in the car and finally at about 2am all was quiet. The next day we went to Pond's Lodge to check out the antique sale. The only thing I found was that they sell penny candy there again. It was fun to introduce Owen to something I loved when I was little. I let him pick out a whole dollars worth. That evening we had a super fun trip into West Yellowstone.

Here we are with our ice cream from Buckaroo Bills or whatever that place is called. Yes that's a single in my bowl. The owners are LDS...this explains a lot. People who don't smoke, drink coffee, or alcohol know how to eat ice cream. Even I couldn't finish the whole thing.

We headed over to some shade while we waited for the second car to arrive. Owen found his new favorite thing-sprinklers! The first day in Utah we were driving and Owen gasped "Daddy, Mommie, Look!! What are those?" pointing to about 10 sprinklers watering a school playground. This kid LOVES the water.
Here we are at the restaurant! Everything was really good and so "western" compared to here in the East.

Grandma wrapped Owen up in a cozy blanket the next morning!

These next pictures are really of Monday. We went down to Mesa Falls. It was a lot of fun just being outside and feeling the cool mountain breeze. Everything smells so good out there. Owen didn't want to look away from the water for even a second. We had to takle him for a picture.

A picture using the "don't smile" trick.

The visitor's center had a wonderful display of furs, antlers, talons, hoofs, eggs, and other fun things kids could touch. It was better than many museums I've been to!

There was a beautiful sunset so we stopped for a picture.

Pictures in the old car. I wonder how long that things been there?

On Sunday Grandma had a great idea to let Owen play outside with a water bottle, bucket and water. He had so much fun. Marcella even put up with him getting her soaked.

Our cool family reunion photo. Notice the pirates in the middle.

Not all dishwashing sessions went this smooth!

Dad called for a last minute service project of staining the deck. But he didn't make me help. Thanks dad!
And last of all is Lucky Dog Creek and... Jeff's new pet. He was going to keep it until Lizzy held it and it decided to vomit in her hand. She screamed, dropped it and will probably never be the same again. It's just got a weak stomach like you Lizzy!
